National contest for PM Modi's scheme for young authors 'YUVA 2.0' ends on January 15

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) issued a letter to higher educational institutions (HEIs) to disseminate information about the PM-YUVA mentorship scheme for young authors 2.0. The national contest for potential YUVA 2.0 candidates will end on January 15, 2023 at innovateindia.mygov.in/yuva.
The contestants are asked to submit a non-fiction book proposal of 10,000 words- synopsis: 2,000-3,000 words; chapter plan; sample chapters: 7,000-8,000 words and bibliography and references. The submitted entries for PM Yuva 2.0 scheme will be evaluated from January 16 to March 31, 2023.

The 75 authors that will be select through the competition will be getting a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per month for a period of six months. In addition to this, the National Book Trust (NBT) will be publishing the books by selected authors under the mentorship scheme.

The books prepared under this scheme will be published by the NBT and will also be translated into other Indian languages ensuring the exchange of culture and literature, thereby promoting 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.
