NBEMS to generate state-specific merit lists for NEET-PG 2024; Haryana, Goa to prepare their own

Use NowNEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will prepare state-specific merit lists for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024. The decision was made during a virtual meeting held today, October 28, which involved officials from the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), and the State Counselling Authorities.
During the meeting, the participants reached several decisions such as states like Haryana and Goa, which do not offer additional incentive marks to in-service candidates will prepare their own state merit lists as in previous NEET PG sessions.
NBEMS also encouraged state authorities to implement a one-time registration process for all NEET PG counselling rounds. State counselling authorities were recommended to complete the registration process by November 5, 2024.
NEET PG 2024 counselling
The board urged state authorities to submit a complete list of eligible and registered candidates for state NEET PG 2024 counselling to the NBEMS in a specific format by November 6, 2024. The data should be sent as a password-protected Microsoft Excel file, with the password provided separately.
NBEMS shall provide the state-wise merit list within a week after receipt of the required data from the state counselling authorities. As per the information, the Additional Director (Medical) at NBEMS, N Iboyaima Mangang, will be the single point of contact for this activity.
The Secretary of the NMC, B Srinivas, informed participants that the decision regarding the submission of necessary registration data to the NBEMS by the relevant State Counselling Authorities, along with the timeline for the submission of the State Wise Merit List by NBEMS, will be published on the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and NMC websites. This information will also be communicated to all State Counselling Authorities via email.
