NEW DELHI: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) registration has started on July 13, 2021, at the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) official websites - neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. Medical aspirants can fill the application form and download the information brochure with the latest changes introduced by the authorities. The medical entrance exam will be conducted on September 12, 2021, in pen and paper-based mode.

Every year more than 15 lakh students appear for the NEET-UG exam as it is the only eligibility test granting admissions into medical colleges in the country. It is crucial for students to prepare and score well to excel in the examination in order to get admission to desired MBBS and BDS colleges. NEET 2021 total marks is 720, while candidates scoring more than 650 marks stand a chance to get admission to the best medical or dental colleges across the country.
The NTA released the information brochure with changes in the NEET exam pattern. As per the revised paper pattern, NEET 2021 examination will contain 200 multiple choice questions, of which students can attempt 180 questions. Every correct answer is awarded four marks and for every incorrect answer, one mark shall be deducted.
Since more than one month is left for NEET preparations, below are some of the tips on how to score 650+ marks in the medical entrance exam.
NTA has made several changes to the NEET 2021 exam pattern. The NEET 2021 question paper will be divided into two sections, Section A and Section B consisting of 35 and 15 questions respectively. Out of the 15 questions in Section B, students have to answer 10. It is crucial for the students to pay close attention to the exam pattern and prepare methodically taking into account the weightage of the sections.
Out of the three sections, physics is considered to be the most difficult one. Students must pay close attention to the preparation of NEET physics. According to some experts, by covering 70% of the physics syllabus, candidates can score at least 100 marks in the section. Students seeking to score 650+ marks in NEET 2021, must focus on the full physics syllabus closely. One should aim at both conceptual and theoretical clarity.

The chemistry section consists of 45 questions having a weightage of 180 marks. The section is further divided into three sections including Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. As per the experts, among all the three subjects, chemistry is the most scoring and if prepared carefully, candidates can obtain 650+ marks in the NEET exam. The biology section consists of 90 questions each from Botany and Zoology with a total of 360 marks. Medical aspirants aiming to score 650+ marks in NEET 2021 should aim at conceptual clarity of the fundamentals.
