NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has added a new exam centre for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in Dubai. The letter by the secretary of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Amit Khare mentions that the NEET 2021 exam centre has been added in Dubai along with the one already provided in Kuwait. The MoE took to Twitter account to announce the same.

Sanjay Bhattacharya, secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) wrote a letter to the ministry requesting to add Dubai and Doha exam centres outside India. After the addition of Dubai as a new exam city, the NEET-UG exam will be conducted on September 12, 2021, at 203 exam centres.

The letter by Amit Khare mentions that “I am happy to inform you that it has been decided by the NTA to create one more centre city at Dubai in addition to the one already created at Kuwait city during the year 2021.”

The Indian community in the Gulf countries should be informed and the Indian Embassies at Kuwait and Dubai are advised to provide their full cooperation to NTA in conducting NEET-UG 2021 in a fair and secured manner.

Also, the MoE has tweeted about the increase of NEET exam centre.

NEET 2021 exam

NTA will be conducted in pen and paper-based format in 13 languages. NEET 2021 application form has been released on July 13 at the official website - neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. Along with the registration, the NEET brochure has been released with major changes. Last year, NEET was held on September 13, 2020. A total of 13,66,945 candidates appeared for the medical entrance exam, of which only 7,71,500 aspirants qualified the test.

Through NEET-UG, candidates will be granted admission to 83,075 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 525 BVSc and AH seats. The admission to 1,899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER MBBS seats will be through NEET 2021. From this year, NEET scores may be used for admission to BSc Nursing and BSc Life Sciences courses.
