In a live interaction with Times Now, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the ministry of education is considering to conduct NEET 2021 more than once, like JEE Main examination. However, the education minister has not yet confirmed any particular detail about the NEET 2021 exam pattern.
The education minister also confirmed that the NTA and senior officials of the education and health ministries had interacted recently, to discuss whether NEET-UG should be conducted more than once a year, the report said. He further added that the exam dates for NEET 2021, along with the decision related to the paper pattern and conducting medical entrance test twice a year would be announced soon.
The ministry of education in an official statement said that the NEET 2021 will remain unchanged for this academic year. However, in view of the reduction of the syllabus by some boards across the country, it has been decided to provide internal choice to students for the topics removed.
The NEET 2021 exam pattern is expected to be announced soon as the questions are designed in the line with the JEE Main, where students have to answer 75 questions from a total of 90. The NEET exam usually consists of 180 questions, however, it is likely to increase this year, of which students will be asked to answer only 180 questions of their choice.
The NEET application form filling dates are still awaited. However, the NTA will commence the registration for NEET 2021 in online soon at ntaneet.nic.in or nta.ac.in. Only the eligible candidates can register for the medical entrance test. Through NEET 2021, a total of 82,950 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 525 BVSc and AH seats across India.
