JEE Main, NEET syllabus remain unchanged for 2021: PIB clarifies
The number of questions to be asked in JEE Main 2021 has increased and the exam pattern for NEET 2021 is yet to be announced.
NEW DELHI: Press Information Bureau released a short notice clarifying that the syllabus of NEET 2021 and JEE Main exam will remain unchanged for the year 2021. However, unlike last year, candidates will have more options in questions asked in NEET exam and JEE Main 2021.
In a live interaction with Kendriya Vidyalaya students held on January 18, Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the JEE Main, NEET 2021 and other competitive exams will be held based on the reduced syllabus.
Hence, JEE Main 2021 syllabus will remain the same as last year. There will be no changes in the topics. However, the number of questions to be asked in JEE Main 2021 has been increased to 90 questions (30 questions each in physics, chemistry and mathematics).
Previously, students had to answer 75 questions - 25 questions each in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
The final NEET 2021 exam pattern is yet to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Considering the changes in JEE Main 2021, provisions are expected for the aspirants of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test -UG (NEET-UG) 2021.
JEE Main 2021 will be held in four sessions in February, March, April and May 2021. The exam dates of all the sessions are available on the JEE Main 2021 official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The education minister also declared the CBSE Board exam date 2021 during a live session on December 31. CBSE will conduct the exams from May 4 to June 10, 2021. However, the final date sheet is yet to be released.
