Clarifying on the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) recent proposal to merge JEE Main, NEET and CUET, the education minister said that no proposal is under consideration to introduce an integrated exam, as per the All India Radio News tweet. He further asked students to prepare for the exam without stress.

The announcement made by the UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar in August regarding the merger of NEET, JEE Main and CUET received mixed reactions. While the majority of them expressed concerns, students also organised a ‘combined symbolic protest’ at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, over the problems faced during the largest entrance exams this year and demanding extra attempts.

“This idea about merging JEE and NEET with CUET is senseless, rather it's a distraction to overcome the huge blunder done by NTA this year,” a student wrote on Twitter.

Opposing the merger, students on social media pointed out several technical glitches and administrative issues faced during JEE Main 2022, NEET 2022, CUET UG 2022 exams this year.
