Try NowNEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee along with the Union Ministry has submitted the counselling schedule for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery or NEET MDS 2021 on August 10, as per the Live Law report. According to the submitted dates, the NEET MDS counselling 2021 will start from August 20. Earlier, the Supreme Court asked the Centre to provide NEET MDS counselling dates by August 11 .
“What is this. We have read last week that the Centre has approved the OBC quota. Now again you will take it to October or November. We will not allow this. You please tell us by Wednesday when you are going to conduct the counselling. We are listing the matter as the first item. You apprise us,” the court earlier said. Read more to know the details.

Allow NEET MDS counselling to be conducted virtually: Health Ministry to SC
The report further states that the Ministry of Health has requested the Supreme Court to allow them to conduct NEET MDS counselling 2021 virtually within 4 weeks with an existing reservation. It has been informed that the delay in the NEET MDS 2021 counselling was caused due to the lack of clarity on the issue of OBC reservation in state medical colleges under AIQ scheme.
Earlier, on July 29, the central government approved 27% reservation to OBC (Non-creamy layer) as per Central List of OBC and 10% reservation to EWS category as per Central Government norms in All India.
NEET MDS 2021 counselling will be conducted for admission to 50% AIQ, all seats in deemed/central universities, ESIC and AFMS institutes.
Delay in NEET MDS 2021 Counselling
The petition on NEET MDS 2021 counselling was earlier filed by Advocates Tanvi Dubey and Charu Mathurin highlighted an “unjust and infinite delay” caused by MCC. A division bench comprising Justices DY Chandrachud and MR Shah had observed that the delay in the NEET MDS 2021 counselling is affecting the entire year of the dental candidates.
NEET MDS 2021 was conducted last year on December 16, 2020, and the result was announced on December 31, 2020. However, the counselling of the postgraduate dental exam was delayed for months.
