‘Rational demand of Saviours’: NEET PG aspirants intensify postponement request; get MPs support

Use NowNEW DELHI: Chorusing the postponement of the National Eligibility Entrance Test for postgraduate (NEET) PG 2022, candidates have further raised their demands with the support of the members of Parliament (MPs) who have joined their agitation by writing letters to the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya urging to fulfill the demands of students and defer the exam by eight to ten weeks.

MP Hibi Aden wrote a letter to the Mandaviya and said, “I request your consideration to these grievances of junior doctors by postponing NEET PG Exam 2022 for at least 2 months” as “it was found that about 5,000 intern doctors from various states of India are ineligible to appear for the exam.”

P Chidambaram also wrote to the health minister saying, “I am writing to you in solidarity with the thousands of junior doctors who have worked tirelessly to carry India through the pandemic but whose futures are being jeopardized due to the designated cut off date for NEET PG 2022, which renders them ineligible for the same”. He urged Mandaviya to postpone the exam and provide a “proper gap between NEET PG AIQ counselling 2021 and NEET PG 2022 exam.
The NEET PG 2022 postponement again gathered steam with doctors and candidates taking to Twitter with hashtag #NEETPG2022 trending on the micro-blogging site.
