Use NowNEW DELHI: The Union health ministry has approved the reduction of NEET PG cut-off 2023 after repeated requests from medicos, doctor groups. As per the revised NEET PG qualifying percentile, those candidates who have scored zero will also be considered for admission to postgraduate (PG) medical courses. Soon after the announcement, memes started flooding X (formerly Twitter).
The decision to reduce the NEET PG cut-off 2023 to 0 received mixed reactions. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the IMA National Zonal coordinator Dhruv Chauhan also had different points of view. While, IMA welcomed the move, the the zonal coordinator of IMA said that the decision “should concern the general public more”
“The current decision to reduce NEET PG cut off to “ - 40 marks ” should not concern doctors. It should concern the general public more and who are still silent over the issue. Your health is being traded in the market of Private mafias and politicians openly,” Dhruv Chauhan tweeted.

The United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) national president Lakshya Mittal said that the “revision of NEET PG cut-off to zero should not be seen in negative light as admission to PG seats would still be on the basis of merit itself”.
As per the Times of India report, the last rank holder has scored -40 marks. FAIMA doctors association, Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and several others said that the decision is “mockery of the standard of medical education and healthcare system” of India.

Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that NEET is nothing but a screening mechanism to filter out the poor and marginalised students.
