The National Medical Commission in its Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER) 2023 notified the tentative exam date and admission schedule. Accordingly, NEET PG 2024 result will be declared in April and the postgraduate counselling will commence in May.
There’s also confusion over whether NEET PG or National Exit Test (NExT) will be conducted for admission to postgraduate medical programmes.
“If we could get some clarity after stakeholders discussion regarding neet pg 2024 date? As we dnt want to sit again for 5 months due to late admission this year for next yr counselling? Best if exam is delayed or counselling done within a month. Also late internship ending,” a doctor commented on a post.

An X user said in a post, “So plz postpone neet pg 2024. There is no use in giving exam in march 2024 and sitting idle for 5 months till counselling starts in aug- sept as internships are finishing late. Instead we can use that time to study. Conduct exam in june 2024, results in july & counselling in aug.”
