NEET PG Counselling 2023: MCC announces special stray vacancy round; registration begins tomorrow

NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a special stray vacancy round for NEET PG counselling 2023 to fill the leftover postgraduate medical seats. As per the schedule, registration for special counselling through National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate will begin tomorrow, November 17.

“All the NEET PG 2023 eligible candidates are hereby informed that to prevent wastage of precious medical seats, MoHFW has decided to conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round for the vacant MD/ MS/ Diploma/ MDS Seats of AIQ and State Quota. It is pertinent to mention that this Special Stray Vacancy Round will be the last round for postgraduate courses for this academic year i.e 2023,” said MCC in an official notice.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the special stray vacancy round on the official website, mcc.nic.in. The last date to register for this round is November 22. Applicants will be able to fill and lock choices between November 18 and November 22.

The seat allotment result will be declared on November 24 and seat allotted candidates will be required to report to the allotted institutes between November 25 and November 30.

NEET PG Counselling 2023: Special stray vacancy round schedule

The eligibility criteria for this round are as follows:

• Candidates who are not holding any seat either in All India Quota or state quota are eligible to participate. However, candidates who did not join their seats allotted through MCC round-3 onwards are ‘Not Eligible’ to participate.
• The security deposit of candidates who do not join their allotted seat in this round will be forfeited and such candidates will be debarred from taking NEET exam for the next year.
• The data of allotted candidates of special stray vacancy round will be shared with states and candidates who are allotted seats by MCC will be debarred from taking admission in state counselling.
• This round is not an upgradation round. Joined candidates of earlier rounds will not be given a chance of upgrading.
