Use NowNEW DELHI: The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) new exam date 2024. The board will now administer the NEET PG exam 2024 on August 11 in two shifts for admission to MD, MS, other PG medical courses. The PG medical entrance exam was postponed a day before the scheduled date “to maintain the sanctity of the examination process”.
"In continuation of NBEMS notice dated 22.06.2024, the conduct of NEET-PG 2024 examination has been rescheduled. The NEET-PG 2024 shall now be conducted on 11th August 2024 in two shifts," read NBEMS official notice. The board iterated that the NEET PG 2024 cut-off date for eligibility to appear in exam will continue to be August 15, 2024.
The Union health ministry and the NBEMS held a meeting two days after the announcement of postponement to check the "robustness" of the system for the conduct of the exam. The NBE chief also met with the Indian Medical Association ( IMA ) and discussed about the challenges faced by the NEET PG aspirants.
As per the revised schedule, the board will issue fresh NEET PG admit card 2024 and the hall tickets will be hosted on the official website, natboard.edu.in. The NEET PG question paper 2024 will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions and will be time-bound, as per the revised pattern. Four marks will be awarded for every right answer and 25% marks will be deducted for wrong response. The mandatory time-bound section was introduced this year, which also received strong criticism from doctors.
The board also warned candidates of fraudsters claiming to leak NEET PG question paper 2024 before the exam date in return for a large sum of money. Applicants found involved in unfair means to qualify the exam will also be punished as per the law, it said.
