NEET SS Counselling 2025: Special stray vacancy round schedule out; registration begins

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the special stray vacancy round for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 counselling. The counselling schedule has been issued following a Supreme Court order that led to the reduction of the NEET SS 30th percentile cut-off from the existing 50th percentile.

The NEET SS counselling special stray vacancy round is being conducted in compliance with the Supreme Court's order dated September 17, 2026, in W.P. (Civil) No. 771 of 2026, Tamil Nadu Medical Officers Association & Anr vs Union of India & Ors. The schedule covers admissions to D.M., M.Ch. and DNB SS courses.

NEET SS Counselling: Special stray vacancy round dates

According to the counselling schedule, the registration and payment facility will open on September 25, 2026. Candidates can register until 3 pm on September 28, while the payment facility will remain available until 6 pm on September 28, as per server time.

NEET SS Counselling 2025: Steps to register

For the special stray vacancy round of NEET SS counselling, registration is scheduled from September 25 to 28, 2026. The below mentioned steps will help candidates to complete the registration process.

• Visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in
• Go to the super speciality counselling section.
• Click on the registration link for NEET SS counselling.
• Enter the required NEET SS and personal details.
• Verify the information and submit the registration form.
• Note down the login credentials generated during registration.
• Log in to the counselling portal using the registered credentials.
• Pay the applicable counselling fee/security deposit through the available online payment facility.
• Complete the NEET SS registration process
• Save the completed application and choices for future reference.

As per the notice, all participating institutes and colleges must treat Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as working days to ensure compliance with the counselling timeline.
