NEW DELHI: With the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2022 scheduled to be held on July 17, 2022, a section of NEET aspirants have requested prime minister Narendra Modi to meet them and listen to their issues. The aspirants also said that if the prime minister does not meet them, they will hold a hunger strike on July 5 from 10 am onwards.

In a statement released by the aspirants, they claim that several representations were submitted to the education and health ministry, and the prime minister's office, which did not heed any response from them. "From the last 2 months NEET UG aspirants have been demanding for a 40 day postponement, but the education ministry didn't pay any heed to our humble request," said s statement from the aspirants.

NEET 2022 aspirants also said that the CBSE Class 12 was concluded by June 15, which gives them only 30 days for preparing for the NEET UG 2022 exam. They further said that the late counselling for droppers which gives them even less time to prepare. The aspirants also pointed out the refusal by Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to meet student activist Pawan Bhadana to hear out the issues.

Aspirants have been demanding to postpone NEET-UG 2022 pointing out a clash with other competitive exams and limited time for preparation. But there has not been any positive reaction to these demands from the side of the government. Recently, NEET aspirants were agitated by Pradhan’s negative response to the demand put forward by the aspirants to postpone NEET-UG 2022. Aspirants allegedly slammed Pradhan for comparing the NEET exam with a monthly school exam.
