NEET UG 2023: 20.87 lakh applications recorded; Nearly 12 lakh female candidates

NEW DELHI: A record 20.87 lakh registrations have been received for medical entrance exam NEET-UG this year, including nearly 12 lakh female candidates, according to officials. NEET UG 2023 Exam City Slip Live Updates
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) is the largest entrance exam in the country, followed by CUET-UG. According to registration statistics, 20.87 lakh candidates have applied for the crucial exam, over 2.57 lakh more than last year.
The gender gap too breached the two lakh-mark with 11.8 lakh female candidates registering, which is 2.8 lakh more than male candidates. The number of male candidates is 9.02 lakh. The maximum registrations are from Maharashthra, followed by Uttar Pradesh.

The National Testing Agency issued a notice regarding the the medium of the NEET UG 2023 exam . As per the public notice, candidates who have opted for the English language for the exam will be provided question booklet only in English while candidates opting for Hindi or regional languages would be provided with a bilingual test booklet with one language being English.
The exam will be held on May 7. The exam city intimation slip is expected to be released soon by NTA. As per the official announcement made by NTA, the NEET UG 2023 admit card is expected to be released at least 15 days prior to the exam. The questions in the NEET UG 2023 paper will be framed according to the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi.
NEET-UG is the qualifying entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS and BSc (H) nursing courses.
