NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to begin the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) registration soon. This year, the single-largest medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS and other UG medical courses will be held on May 5.
As per the latest update, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has allowed students who have studied physics, chemistry, biology, or biotechnology as additional subjects in Class 12 to appear for the exam. The NEET syllabus 2024 has also been reduced and updated on the official websites, nta.ac.in.
Aspirants who wish to appear for the exam will have to fill the NEET application form 2024 on the official website. The NTA closes the NEET registration window a month after the application form is out. As per past trends, the NEET UG registration 2024 will begin in the month of March. Some media reports also speculated NTA to issue the form in January, however, the NEET 2024 official website is not active yet.

The NEET exam is conducted in pen-and-paper format for a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. The test is held in 13 languages in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
As per NEET 2024 age limit, candidates should be of minimum 17 years while applying for the entrance test. However, there is no upper age limit to appear in the medical entrance exam.
Students who have completed Class 12 will be eligible to apply. They should have scored at least 50% in physics, chemistry, and biology in the Class 12 or equivalent examination. SC, ST, and OBC-NCL candidates should have obtained a minimum of 40% in the qualifying exam.
The NEET exam is held only once every year. Candidates will be able to attempt once a year and there is no age restriction.
