NEET UG 2025 Registration Live: NTA NEET application forms at neet.nta.nic.in; tie-breaking-criteria

As per NEET UG 2025 information bulletin, PwBD candidates having a physical limitation to write in exam will be given compensatory time of one hour for the NEET UG, whether they use the scribe facility or not.

As per the NEET UG information bulletin, candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before December 31 of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the UG medical course.

NEET UG 2025 registration has commenced from February 7 and the last date to fill NEET application form 2025 is March 7.

The NEET UG 2025 application fee for OBC-NCL category candidates is Rs 1,000. Students can apply for the NEET 2025 exam through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

As per NTA, candidates can now select three cities for their preferred exam centre. Earlier, candidates were given only two preferences. The exam centre have also been reduced to 552, which is 5 less than previous year. While number of international exam cities is 14, same as last years.

Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for NEET UG 2025. 

• Visit the NEET official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
• Enter name, gender, date of birth and other details
• Provide a valid mobile number and email ID (for OTP verification)
• Enter the security pin as displayed on the registration screen
• Choose a password for the registration process of NEET 2025
• Verify the OTP received in the registered mobile number and email ID.
• Pay the application fee and click on submit.

No, APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET registration 2025 but just an option to fill the NEET UG application form 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already clarified that it is not compulsory. NEET UG 2025 aspirants were asked to use their APAAR ID and Aadhaar-based authentication during the NEET UG registration 2025.

The NEET code 3 under the qualifying examination codes for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 states the following:

Candidates who have passed the Intermediate or pre-degree exam in science of an Indian university or board or other recognized exam body with physics, chemistry, biology, or biotechnology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject are eligible.

In the revised CBME guidelines for MBBS, the National Medical Commission (NMC) dropped LGBTQ reference and made changes in competencies related to sexuality and gender. The commission published the Competency-based Medical Education curriculum for MBBS in line with the Madras High Court order. The guidelines, initially issued in August last year, were withdrawn after facing flak from activists and medical fraternity.

NEET 2025: CBME guidelines for MBBS revised. 

For NEET UG 2025, the lower age limit for candidates belonging to all categories is: born on or before December 31, 2008. NTA informed that there is no upper age limit, as per the letter received from the National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB). 

NTA recently clarified that APAAR ID is not mandatory to fill the NEET application form 2025. Applicants can use other means to complete their NEET UG 2025 registration. The clarification came after a notice wherein the testing agency encouraged aspirants to use the ID and Aadhaar-based authentication for NEET registration 2025. 

The last date to fill the NEET application form 2025 is March 7, 2025, according to the NEET UG 2025 information bulletin.

NTA has revised the NEET UG 2025 exam pattern. Accordingly, the question paper will comprise of 180 multiple-choice questions. The detailed paper pattern is given below.

NTA has revised NEET UG tie-breaking rule. In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks or NEET percentile scores in the exam, the tie will be resolved using the following method.

• Candidate obtaining higher marks, percentile score in biology - botany and zoology, followed by,
• Candidate obtaining higher marks, percentile score in chemistry, followed by,
• Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in physics, followed by,
• Candidate with less proportion of the number of incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects,
• Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in biology, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in chemistry, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in physics, followed by
• In case, these criteria are exhausted and tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.

Students who have completed 17 years of age and qualified Class 12 exams, or appearing this year are eligible to appear for NEET UG 2025.
