NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 registration. Eligible aspirants can fill NEET application form 2025 on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply for NEET 2025 is March 7, 2025.
NTA will conduct NEET UG exam 2025 on May 4 in a pen-and-paper mode for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical programmes. Those who have completed 17 years of age and passed Class 12 are eligible.
NEET UG 2025 registration fees is Rs 1,700 for applicants belonging to the general category, Rs 1,600 for general-EWS and OBC-NCL, and Rs 1,000 for SC, ST, PwD, and third gender.
NEET Registration 2025: Documents required
Candidates will be required to upload the following documents at the time of NEET UG registration 2025 :
- Candidate’s Aadhaar Card
- Class 10, 12 marksheets and passing certificates
- Candidate’s signature (scanned)
- Candidate’s finger and thumb impression (scanned)
- Latest passport size photograph
- Government-issued photo ID
- Category certificate, if any
- Domicile certificate
In a change of rules , aspirants can now select three cities for NEET UG exam centre 2025 while the number of exam cities has been reduced to 552.
NTA has revised NEET UG tie-breaking criteria , introducing a ‘random process’ by an independent expert committee to break the tie between two candidates having equal marks.

NEET UG 2025: CBME guidelines for MBBS
In the revised CBME guidelines for MBBS, the National Medical Commission (NMC) dropped LGBTQ reference and made changes in competencies related to sexuality and gender. The commission published the Competency-based Medical Education curriculum for MBBS in line with the Madras High Court order. The guidelines, initially issued in August last year, were withdrawn after facing flak from activists and medical fraternity.

Age limit for NEET 2025
For NEET UG 2025, the lower age limit for candidates belonging to all categories is: born on or before December 31, 2008. NTA informed that there is no upper age limit, as per the letter received from the National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB).

NEET Registration 2025: Is APAAR ID mandatory?
NTA recently clarified that APAAR ID is not mandatory to fill the NEET application form 2025. Applicants can use other means to complete their NEET UG 2025 registration. The clarification came after a notice wherein the testing agency encouraged aspirants to use the ID and Aadhaar-based authentication for NEET registration 2025.

NEET 2025: New tie-breaking rule
NTA has revised NEET UG tie-breaking rule . In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks or NEET percentile scores in the exam, the tie will be resolved using the following method.
- Candidate obtaining higher marks, percentile score in biology - botany and zoology, followed by,
- Candidate obtaining higher marks, percentile score in chemistry, followed by,
- Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in physics, followed by,
- Candidate with less proportion of the number of incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects,
- Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in biology, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in chemistry, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in physics, followed by
- In case, these criteria are exhausted and tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.
