The NEET UG 2026 examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 3, was rated as easy in difficulty by aspirants. Continuing a trend observed in previous years, the Biology section once again emerged as time-consuming. The exam was held in offline mode in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm across centres nationwide. Over 22 lakh medical aspirants attempted 180 questions within a duration of three hours. The paper covered three core subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Biology—and carried a total of 720 marks. NEET UG answer key link LIVE updates,

In terms of overall difficulty, most aspirants described the paper 'easy'. Physics and Chemistry were moderate, requiring a clear understanding of concepts and precise calculations. Zoology was straightforward and scoring, while Botany, though easy in terms of concepts, was time-consuming due to its length. Overall, the paper rewarded consistent preparation and effective time management rather than last-minute efforts.

There were also a few isolated incidents reported on exam day. Some aspirants missed their opportunity to appear for NEET UG 2026 due to late arrival at the exam centre, while others faced issues such as reaching the wrong centre. Dishari from Vikaspuri missed the exam because Google Maps did not show the location of her centre in G Block, Vikaspuri. By the time she reached the centre, she was too late. “The location wasn’t there at all on Google Maps, so how does one reach?” she asked. Another aspirant also missed NEET 2026 for the same reason. This issue particularly affected those travelling by cab or personal vehicles.

NEET aspirant Keshav forgot to bring his passport-sized photograph and had to rush to a nearby shop at the last minute to get one. No issues like technical glitches in verification devices, inadequate arrangements were reported this year.

As per the NEET UG marking scheme, each correct answer carries 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response. No marks are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.
