NEET UG Counselling 2022: Round-1 allotted candidates can resign by November 1

NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG counselling 2022 can resign till 5 pm, November 1, 2022. MCC informed that after the deadline, candidates will be considered as part of NEET UG 2022 counselling round-2.

“In reference to round-1 of UG counselling 2022, reporting is scheduled to end on 28th October, 2022. It is for information that candidates can resign the seat of Round-1 till 05:00 P.M of 1st November, 2022 after which they will be considered as part of Round-2 and same rules will apply on them as applicable for Round- 2 of counselling,” MCC’s latest notification read.

MCC advised candidates to ensure that their resignation letter is generated online (through a portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’. “In such a case, candidate will be deemed to occupy the seat still, and rules of round-2 will apply,” it added.

MCC warned that any letter other than resignation letter generated through the online portal will not be considered as ‘Resignation Letter’. In case a candidate is resigning by sending an email to college, they should make sure that they receive the resignation letter generated through the online portal of MCC.

MCC further informed that in case a candidate gives consent for upgradation in NEET UG counselling 2022 round-2, participates in round-2 counselling but is not upgraded, they cannot resign the seat allotted in round-2 and will have to retain the seat. “In such a case rules of Round-2 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round-2. There is no option of resignation if the candidate is not upgraded in round-2,” it further stated.

Round-1 joined candidates who neither participate in round-2 nor resign the seat of Round-1 will be considered part of round-2 after the stipulated time.

MCC declared NEET UG 2022 counselling round 1 final seat allotment result on October 21. The last date to report to the designated college is October 28.
