NEW DELHI: A student from Gujarat, who failed in Class 12 board exams scored 705 out of 720 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 exam, The Times of India reported. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG centre-wise results 2024 on Saturday, June 20.

Many social media users have been sharing a comparison of two scores, highlighting a significant difference between the student's Class 12 marks and NEET exam scores.
According to TOI, they were unable to confirm if the marksheets belonged to the same person. Local sources informed TOI that she was registered as a 'dummy' student at a nearby school while attending coaching sessions at a science center in Ahmedabad.
According to the Gujarat board Class 12 board mark sheet, the student scored only 21 in physics, 31 in chemistry, 39 in biology and 59 in English, and in total got 352 out of 700, and failed the exams.
"School sources confirmed that her parents, who are doctors, were called to discuss her poor results. The coaching centre where she was enrolled mentioned that she dropped out two months into her studies during Class 12. When the NEET-UG results were announced, school authorities were stuinned to find that the girl had scored 705 marks, placing her among the top performers in the state", TOI report added.
The student's NEET scores show a 99.8 percentile in physics, 99.1 percentile in chemistry and 99.1 percentile in biology as well, making her overall 99.9 percentile.
In Rajasthan's Sikar, more than 75 NEET UG candidates from each centre have scored over 600 marks, with some centers reporting up to 150 such candidates. An analysis of the centre-wise results for the medical entrance exam reveals that the average number of candidates scoring above 600 in Sikar is significantly higher than the national average.
Out of the 27,000 candidates who took the exam at centers in Sikar, over 4,200 scored above 600. Overall, a total of 30,204 students scored 650 and above, representing 1.3 percent of the 23.22 lakh candidates.
