Download NowNEW DELHI: The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST 2024) registration for admission to five-year Integrated MSc programme offered by NISER Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai will begin on March 30. The NEST exam 2024 will be held on June 30, as per the schedule notified.
Admission to 257 seats will be filled through NEST score 2024. Through the NEST 2024 exam, admission to MSc Biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics, at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai, Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM–DAE CEBS), Mumbai will be offered.
The institutes informed that the NEST exam will be based on the rationalised syllabus of NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks.
Candidates offered admission will be eligible to receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 through the DISHA programme of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Additionally, the scholarship recipients will also receive a grant of Rs 20,000 per annum for summer internships.
Top performers at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS and those securing overall grades above a certain cut-off at the end the programme, will be eligible to appear directly for the interview for admission to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) training school.
NEST 2024: Eligibility criteria
Candidates who fulfil the following eligibility criteria will be eligible to appear for the NEST entrance exam.
- Candidates should have passed the Class 12 board exam from any recognised education board in India in 2022 or 2023.
- Those appearing for Class 12 board exam in 2024 are also eligible.
- Students should have studied science stream in Class 12.
- Applicants should have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in Class 12.
- SC, ST students should have passed Class 12 with 55% in aggregate.
- There is no age limit for appearing in the NEST 2024 examination.
NEST exam schedule 2024
The NEST exam will be held on June 30 in two shifts - shift 1 will commence from 9 am and conclude at 12.30 pm and second shift will be held between 2:30 pm to 6 pm.
