The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai have declared the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 result on the official website at nestexam.in. To download scorecards and check merit ranks, candidates must login using application number, date of birth (as mentioned on admit card) and captcha code. Earlier, the institute released final answer key on June 17.

The computer-based NEST 2026 exam was conducted on June 6 from 2 pm to 5 pm across 140 exam centres in India.

Steps to check NEST result 2026 online

Candidates must login to check marks and download scorecard (if applicable) on/after 30 June 2026.

  • Go to the official website nestexam.in
  • On homepage, click on the link that reads 'RESULT of NEST 2026 Check your merit rank'
  • On the redirected page, enter application number and date of birth to log in
  • Result will appear on screen
  • Go through the same and download it
  • Take its printout for future references

A total of 261 seats are available for MSc admission, including 202 at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and 59 at the University of Mumbai – Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-CEBS).

NEST is a compulsory online computer-based test for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programme offered by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and the University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS). NISER and UM-DAE CEBS are autonomous institutions established by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, in 2007. For more details, one can go to the official website.
