NETS 2022: SHRESHTA scheme registration begins for SC students for Class 9, 11 admission

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS 2022) for admission in Classes 9 and 11. Scheme for residential education for students in high classes in targeted areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high-quality education for meritorious SC students in CBSE-affiliated residential schools.
Interested students should register themselves on the official website, shreshta.nta.nic.in. Ministry of social justice and empowerment secretary R Subrahmanyam has encouraged students to apply for the NETS 2022 exam. Approximately 3,000 seats would be provided in Class 9 and 11 fully funded by the central government.

It also aims to improve foundational learning and reduce dropout rates, with special attention to girls and socially-disadvantaged groups, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
The ministry informed that the NETS 2022 will be held online. Students must note that there is no exam fee for the NETS exam 2022. The NETS 2022 exam will be conducted on May 7, 2022. The exam will be held in all states and union territories and the medium of the exam will be in Hindi and English.
NETS 2022: Eligibility criteria
- Students belonging to scheduled caste (SC) studying in Class 8 and 10 in the current academic year 2021-22.
- Parental annual income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh
