Next Education imparts technical computer skills to over 49,000 rural students in over 86 schools

NEW DELHI, MAY 7: Through an innovative initiative that highlights its passion for accessible technology-based education, Next Education India Pvt. Ltd. – one of India’s leading tech-based education solutions providers – has provided computer education to underprivileged children studying in over 86 schools of the Raigad district.

The project provided the infrastructure and training for comprehensive computer education, and even set up 71 formal Education Centres in the rural areas of Mahad and Mangaon in Raigad. The project has also provided support to differently-abled children through the provision of books, computer-based training equipment, audio-visual projectors, and computers with special software that help these students join the mainstream.

To date, the initiative has provided relevant computer education and training to over 49,000 underprivileged children living in Raigad’s rural slums.

The program, named Computer Masti, conducted in partnership with Swades Foundation, had 5 focus areas – education and literacy enhancement, skill development and empowerment, teacher training, community welfare development, and education infrastructure development. Next Education has provided Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) based applications in well-equipped computer labs, with self-paced instructors and learning aids.

The Computer Masti project is a comprehensive computer science curriculum created by professors of computer science at IIT Bombay in collaboration with Next Education.
