The NTA has not officially announced the NEET UG 2025 registration date as of January 31. The NEET UG 2025 application form will be available on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

The Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the NTA will no longer be holding recruitment exams and will solely focus on college entrance exams like. "NTA will be limited to conducting only entrance exams for higher education and will not conduct any recruitment exams from next year," Pradhan said during a press conference.

The NEET UG 2025 syllabus remains unchanged from the previous year. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched the official NEET 2025 website and published the NEET 2025 syllabus PDF online.

The NTA has announced that the NEET UG 2025 exam pattern will revert to its pre-COVID format, eliminating optional questions from Section B. As per the NEET UG 2025 revised pattern, candidates are now required to attempt all 180 questions. 

The NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in offline mode. The NTA official notification read, "As decided by National Medical Commission (NMC), it is informed that the NEET (UG) 2025 shall be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR based) in Single day and Single Shift."

Candidates can follow these steps to fill the NEET 2025 application form 

• Visit the NEET official website, neet.nta.nic.in 2025.
• Enter name, parents’ name, date of birth, gender, nationality, state of eligibility, category, mobile number and email address.
• Now enter the security pin as displayed on the screen to register.
• The login credentials such as user ID and password will be generated.
• Login again through the NEET registration link and fill in personal and academic details.
• Upload a recent passport size photograph, signature in the specified format.
• Pay the NEET UG application fee and submit the application form.
• Download the NEET UG application confirmation page for future reference.

The Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR ID), a 12-digit unique identity number designed to consolidate students' academic records, was initially made mandatory for NEET UG registration. However, the APAAR ID requirement in NEET 2025 was later revoked, and candidates are instructed to register using alternative methods. 

Candidates are required to keep the following information handy for NEET 2025 registration.

• Class 10 marksheet

After the NEET UG registration last date 2025, the NTA opens the correction window for candidates to edit the details entered in the application form. Students will be allowed to make edits in the NEET form till the correction facility is available; usually NTA gives a few days to rectify discrepancies if any.

There will be a total of 180 compulsory questions in NEET UG 2025 exam. The exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours.

The NEET UG was marred with several irregularities including paper leak and impersonation. Multiple arrests were made in Bihar. Earlier this month, the CBI registered a fresh case against 8 for alleged impersonation, cheating and forgery of documents. The principal of SRDAV public school, one of the centres for the NEET exam held on May 5 last year, has alleged that the candidates' biometrics showed four impersonators were taking the exam in place of registered students. 

The NTA is expected to announce the NEET registration date soon. Students will have to fill the application form by providing personal and academic details such as educational qualification, category, address, personal details. They are also required to upload all necessary documents and pay the requisite application fee. 

Students will have to upload the following documents in the specified format while filling the NEET UG application form 2025. 

• A recent photograph either in colour or black and white with 80% face visible including ears against a white background.
• Scanned photograph, signature, and left and right hand fingers and thumb impression in JPG format  with file size between 10 kb to 200 kb.
• The size of the scanned postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 kb - 200 kb.
• The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb
• The size of scanned and left and right hand fingers and thumb impressions should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
• A scanned copy of the PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card should be uploaded with file size not exceeding 300 kb.

The NTA has reverted to pre-COVID exam format by removing the optional questions from the NEET UG question paper. Candidates will now have to answer all 180 questions - 45 each in physics and chemistry and 90 questions in biology. The NTA had introduced the optional question in section B during COVID-19 pandemic as a one-time measure. As per the revised format, the NEET exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours.

• Visit the NTA NEET UG official website, neet.nta.nic.in 2025. 
• Click on the NEET application form link given on the homepage. (Not active yet).
• Proceed to enter a valid email address and mobile number. 
• Now, enter a valid password and answer a security question. 
• Login credentials will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. 
• Enter the application number and password generated on the login link. 
• Fill in the application form with all required personal and academic details. 
• NEET registration fee should be paid through online mode. 
• Review the details entered and download the NEET confirmation page for future reference.

The NTA has clarified that APAAR ID, a 12-digit identity number for consolidating their academic achievements, is not mandatory for NEET registration. In its notification for NEET UG 2025, the NTA encouraged aspirants to update their Aadhaar credentials and integrate their APAAR ID before applying for the entrance exam. However, later it relaxed the requirement.
