NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 22: National Institute of Design (NID), the top design institute in India, will be announcing admissions for the session 2019-20 in the first week of October 2018. The institute will conduct Design Aptitude Test (DAT) in January for aspirants seeking admissions in the UG design programmes. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the next stage in May.
Interested students can apply in online mode only in October.
As many as 100 seats will be allotted across eight undergraduate programmes on merit basis at the Ahmedabad campus. Admissions to NID will be a two-stage competitive exam comprising Prelims and Mains. The national level entrance exam will assess the knowledge, skills and behavioural abilities of the test-takers. It will be held across 23 cities in India.
Who can apply?
Students up to 20 years of age on or before June 30, 2019, can apply. However, there is a relaxation of three years for those belonging to the reserved categories. Aspirants, who have passed or will be appearing for class 12 exam in the academic year 2018–19 from any recognized board of education are also eligible to apply.
The application fee is expected to be Rs.2000 for General category candidates and Rs.1000 for those belonging to SC/ST/PwD category.
