NIIT University partners with Canterbury University to offer joint courses, student exchange programmes

The NIIT University (NU) has partnered with the University of Canterbury, New Zealand to expand global engagement and international learning ecosystem. The objective of the collaboration is to focus on student exchange programmes, international workshops, and joint learning initiatives.

The partnership between the two universities will offer NU students with exposure to global academic perspectives, business practices, world class instructors and leadership development.

It will also open opportunities for post-study work, supporting students aspiring to pursue international education and global career experiences.

Prakash Gopalan, President, NIIT University, said: “At NIIT University, our priority is to equip students with the capabilities required to succeed in an increasingly global and technology-driven world. Simultaneously, our academic partnership with the University of Canterbury significantly strengthens international learning and global mobility opportunities for our students.”

NIIT University boosts cybersecurity education

In addition, the NU has also joined hands with Checkmarx, a global leader in application security to boost hands-on cybersecurity education and real-world skill development for learners.

“Our collaboration with Checkmarx brings industry-relevant cybersecurity expertise directly into the learning ecosystem, enabling students to gain practical exposure to real-world security challenges,” Gopalan said.

The agreement with Checkmarx aims to empower NU students with cutting-edge cybersecurity knowledge and hands-on industry exposure, preparing them to address the growing challenges of application security in an increasingly digital and interconnected world, as per the official press release.

“As part of the partnership, NU and Checkmarx will work closely on establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Cybersecurity, introducing Industry Practice (IP) modules and additive curriculum, and enabling joint capability development and knowledge exchange,” it added.

Overall, the agreements signed by the NU is an attempt to bridge the academia-industry gap and provide its students with practical, globally relevant learning opportunities.
