NEW DELHI: National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF Ranking 2022) ranks Miranda College as the best college in India. This is followed by Hindu College and Presidency College, Bengaluru, Karnataka. This is the 7th edition of NIRF ranking. Five out of the top 10 colleges in the NIRF ranking 2022 colleges are institutions affiliated to Delhi University (DU).
On Friday, 15 July, education minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the NIRF Ranking 2022. Top 5 colleges are from Delhi University in the NIRF ranking 2022.

Last year, Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), affiliated to Delhi University, Loyola College from Chennai, St. Xavier’s College from Kolkata, and Ramakrishna Mission Hindu College from Howrah, were ranked as top five colleges, under NIRF’s colleges category.
NIRF ranking 2022 constitutes a total of 200 colleges ranked on the parameters including teaching, learning and resources; research, and professional practice; graduation outcomes; outreach and inclusivity and peer perception.
This year NIRF ranking is slightly late again due to Covid disruption. KK Agarwal, chairman, NBA said, “This time we have made up by two months. one more jump by two months and we'll be back to the original schedule of April.”

Apart from colleges, NIRF 2022 ranking covers ten other categories including university, engineering, research institutions, medicine, management, architecture, law, dentistry and pharmacy. Indian Institute of Technology Madras has been declared the top best institute in the NIRF ranking 2022. In fact, IITs and science institutes have dominated engineering and university categories. NIRF 2022 has witnessed an increased participation of 982 institutions, in comparison to last year.
