NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will release the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India rankings on September 9. The e-release of the NIRF India rankings 2021 will be done via live webcast scheduled to start at 12 pm on nirfindia.org. NIRF rankings are released annually by the Union Government to recognize top universities, colleges and other educational institutions across India.
Typically these rankings are released annually in June but due to the second wave of COVID-19 the rankings were delayed this year.
As per the official website, “The framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions.”
The parameters for India rankings 2021 are teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity and perception.
The NIRF was launched by the Minister for Education on September 29, 2015.
