NIRF Rankings 2024: Chandigarh University among top 20 universities in India

Chandigarh University has secured the 20th position in the university category of NIRF ranking 2024. The university has made a mark in just 12 years.
NEW DELHI : The Chandigarh University (CU) has secured the 20th position in the university category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework’s (NIRF) 2024 rankings, announced by the union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday.
A place in the top 20 institutions “highlights Chandigarh University’s outstanding performance in academics, placements, research, and innovation. The ranking underscores the university’s commitment to excellence across these crucial areas,” the CU has said in a statement. The private university was set up in 2012.
The statement also points out that CU is one of the top-ranked in the region. “Regionally, Chandigarh University has excelled as well, attaining the 7th rank in North India. It is also recognized as the leading institution in Punjab and the Chandigarh Tricity area,” says the statement.

Chandigarh University’s NIRF scores
The university has scored the highest on the “graduation outcomes” parameter, earning 78.18 points; this is followed by “outreach and inclusivity”. The private university’s scores in each of NIRF ranking’s performance parameters are given below.

Chandigarh University has seen up to a 14% improvement in these scores compared to the previous year’s rankings, the statement says. In addition to overall rankings, Chandigarh University has secured high ranks in a number of fields, such as engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture and planning.
“Since its debut in the NIRF rankings in 2019, Chandigarh University has consistently enhanced its performance, reinforcing its status as a leading educational institution in India,” the statement says.
