NMC asks MBBS students for feedback on education, anti-ragging, mental health support

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced an online student feedback form for undergraduate medical students across institutions under its jurisdiction. The commission said that the move is aimed to strengthen internal academic review and improve the quality of medical education.

The form is accessible through a dedicated link available on the NMC website, application.nmc.org.in/student-feedback

As per the official NMC announcement, the feedback mechanism has been made live on the NMC website and is intended to collect inputs from students on multiple aspects of their academic and campus experience. The form seeks responses on areas such as teaching quality, faculty availability, clinical exposure, infrastructure including laboratories and dissection halls, and broader aspects like campus culture, student welfare, and grievance redressal systems.

NMC Feedback Form: Students to remain anonymous

The commission has emphasised that participation will remain anonymous, stating that responses will be “anonymous and confidential” and used strictly for “internal academic review and quality improvement purposes.” This assurance is aimed at encouraging students to provide honest and unbiased feedback without fear of repercussions.

NMC said that the initiative also covers critical concerns such as anti-ragging measures, mental health support, extracurricular activities, and rural training exposure, reflecting a comprehensive approach to evaluating medical education beyond classroom learning.

Students have been urged to actively participate and “submit valuable feedback,” as the collected data is expected to inform policy decisions and institutional improvements across medical colleges.

The commission said that the move comes amid ongoing discussions around enhancing the quality and accountability of medical education in India.
