NMIMS' MPSTME civil engineering school publishes two research papers at International conferences

The first research paper was titled "Automated flood water regulating multipurpose system", while the second one was centred on Aqua Barriers.

NEW DELHI: The civil engineering department of Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME) of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Sciences (NMIMS) has published two research papers at International conferences recently, a statement from the institute said. The first research paper was titled "Automated flood water regulating multipurpose system", while the second one was centred on Aqua Barriers.

Both the research studies were led by the students of the Civil engineering department of MPSTME. Students of the department presented the research papers at the national and international level conferences, such as the 9th Indian young geotechnical engineering conference and the eighth Indian young geotechnical conference.

The first patent on Automated flood water regulating multipurpose system proposed a novel approach towards flood resilience by constructing multipurpose wells on the banks of rivers to discharge excess water and generate hydropower. The second paper titled 'Aqua Barrier' highlighted the automated mechanism that can protect any flood-prone area from any disasters caused due to water.

The projects showcased the department's focus on sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy and innovative design, faculty members of the Civil engineering department said.

Head of Civil engineering department of MPSTME Meenal Mategaonkar said: "The achievements of the NMIMS MPSTME Civil Engineering department demonstrate its commitment to developing innovative solutions for complex problems in the field of civil engineering. The department's focus on sustainable infrastructure, disaster resilience, and renewable energy is essential for addressing the challenges faced by society today. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both students and faculty, as well as their commitment to excellence".
