What is Nobel Prize?
Swedish Inventor Alfred Nobel in his will stated that his fortune was to be used to reward “those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind.”
After his death, the first Nobel Prizes were awarded in 1901. Later in 1969, a new prize was established by the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. Nobel Prize winners will receive a cash award of 11 million Swedish kronor ($1 million), a medal, and a personal diploma.
"Between 1901 and 2024, the Nobel Prizes and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel were awarded 622 times to 1002 people and organisations," the official website read.
