NTA CMAT 2022: Notification released; Check what’s new and what changed this year

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2022 notification on February 16. CMAT registrations 2022 are ongoing at the official website - cmat.nta.nic.in. CMAT exam form 2022 can be filled only in online mode till March 17. The CMAT exam date 2022 will be notified later. This year, NTA has introduced major changes in the CMAT 2022 exam pattern; the number of questions in each section has been reduced from 25 to 20. CMAT exam 2022 will have 100 MCQs. Each question carries four marks. The duration of CMAT 2022 will be 180 minutes (3 hours).

NTA CMAT 2022 entrance exam will have five sections - Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The medium of the CMAT question paper will be only in English.

NTA CMAT 2022: What changed this year

• CMAT 2022 will be conducted in two shifts - Shift 1 will be from 9 AM to 12 PM and Shift 2 will be from 3 PM to 6 PM

• The NTA has decreased the total number of CMAT examination centres from 153 to 124.

• In 2021, Innovation & Entrepreneurship were added as an additional section in the CMAT exam pattern and an additional 30 minutes was allotted for this section. As per the revised CMAT 2022 exam pattern, this section is now mandatory along with the other four sections.

CMAT Exam 2022: Marking scheme

Below is the CMAT 2022 marking scheme mentioned in the NTA’s CMAT 2022 information brochure.

• For every correct answer, aspirants will be awarded 4 marks and for every incorrect attempt, one mark will be deducted.

• There will be no negative marking for any unanswered/ un-attempted questions.

• To answer a question, the candidate has to choose an option as the right option.

• However, after the process of challenges of the CMAT answer key, in case there are multiple correct options or change in key, only those students who have attempted it correctly as per the revised answer key will be awarded marks.

• In case a question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the aspirants irrespective of the fact who have attempted it or not.
