NTA to conduct GAT-B and BET 2021 exams on August 14; Registrations to begin today
The GAT-B and BET examination this year will be held by the NTA on August 14 in computer-based mode.

NEW DELHI : National Testing Agency (NTA) has been announced as the conducting body for Graduate Aptitude Test Biotechnology (GAT-B) and Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) examination this year. The GAT-B 2021 application form will be released on July 7 and the last date for filling and submitting the application form will be July 31. The mode of application will be online only. The application correction window for GAT-B 2021 exam will be available from August 4 to 6.
The application fee of GAT-B and BET 2021 for general, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates will be Rs 1200, whereas, for the candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories the fees for each examination will be Rs 600.
The GAT-B and BET 2021 entrance test will be held on August 14. NTA will conduct the GAT-B 2021 and BET 2021 test in the computer-based mode. The duration of the examination will be three hours.
Last year, the GAT-B examination replaced the old Jawaharlal Nehru University Common Entrance Examination for Biotechnology (JNU CEEB) and the conducting body of the GAT-B exam was the Regional Centre of Biotechnology, Faridabad.
The GAT-B examination is held for admission to biotechnology postgraduate programmes and allied areas in DBT supported programmes including MTech Biotechnology, MSc Agricultural Biotechnology and MVSc Animal Biotechnology. Biotechnology Eligibility Test, or commonly known as BET is an examination held to provide DBT- Junior Fellowship for pursuing research in areas related to biotechnology.
IIT Roorkee and IIT Indore have also joined the GAT-B 2021 examination and will be offering a total of 40 seats in the MSc Biotechnology programme. IIT Roorkee will offer 30 seats, whereas IIT Indore will provide admissions in 10 seats through the GAT-B entrance exam.
