NTA JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam day guidelines, dress code out; all you need to know

JEE Main 2024 session 2 is scheduled to begin on April 4. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced exam day instructions and things allowed inside the exam centre.

NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2024 session 2 exams will be held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from April 4 to April 12. Along with the JEE Main admit card download link for session 2, the NTA has also notified the exam guidelines to be followed by candidates. These also include a list of mandatory documents to be carried by candidates to the exam hall.

As per the guidelines, it is a must for candidates to carry their JEE Main hall ticket and a government-issued valid ID proof to the JEE exam centre. Students will not be allowed to carry an electronic device or notes inside the exam hall.

The NTA will conduct the exam in two shifts each day- shift 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, whereas shift 2 will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm.

JEE Main 2024: What not to bring to exam centre

Here's what candidates should not carry to the exam centre.

  • Stationary: Avoid bringing pens, papers, pencils, or geometry boxes; the exam room provides materials for rough work.

  • ID Cards: School or college-issued IDs and mobile phone images are not considered valid.

  • Eatables: Do not bring loose or packed food and water; these are not allowed in the exam hall. However, diabetic students can bring eatables like sugar tablets, fruits, and transparent water bottles.

  • Electronics gadgets: Prohibited items include mobile phones, earphones, calculators, cameras, and smart watches with calculator facilities.

  • Handbags: Candidates are not allowed to carry any kind of handbag or purse.

  • Valuables: No provision for safekeeping of valuables at the JEE Main 2024 exam centre.

The dress-code is part of the NTA's exam security measures. Here's the JEE Main dress code.

  • Avoid clothing with metallic items to ease frisking procedure.

  • Prohibition on wearing caps, mufflers, or any headgear.

  • Opt for lightweight, comfortable attire to ensure ease during the exam.

  • Strictly refrain from wearing jewellery or ornaments.

  • Prohibited accessories include goggles, rings, bracelets, and similar items.

JEE Main 2024: Exam day guidelines

  • Arrive at the test centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time given in the JEE Main 2024 admit card.

  • Candidates arriving after the entry time will not be given permission to take the exam.

  • Write your name and roll number at the top of the rough sheet provided during the exam.

  • Return both the rough sheets and admit card to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.

  • Admit card, photograph, and valid photo ID proof are mandatory for appearing in the JEE Main exam.

  • Candidates without these documents will not be allowed to take the exam.

  • Prohibited items such as mobile phones, study materials, electronic devices, or any unauthorised items are not allowed in the JEE Main 2024 exam venue.

  • Diabetic students can bring eatables like sugar tablets, fruits, and transparent water bottles to the test centre.

  • Packed foods like chocolates, candy, sandwiches, etc., are not permitted.
