NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024 result. Candidates who appeared for the exam can download the NCET 2024 scorecard through the official website ncet.samarth.ac.in. The examination took place on July 10, 2024, in 178 cities nationwide in a computer-based test (CBT) format.

As per the official notice, a total of 40,233 candidates registered for the NCET exam this year. Out of this, 21,564 candidates appeared for the test including 13,665 female and 7,899 male candidates. The NCET 2024 offered a diverse range of 66 subjects, including 38 languages and 27 domain-specific subjects, with the addition of three new languages including Garo, Khasi, and Pali. However, candidates registered and appeared for exams in only 58 and 56 subjects, respectively.

The exam was held in Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The NTA has already uploaded the NCET 2024 final answer keys for all mediums on the official website.

State-wise candidate distribution

As per NTA data Odisha emerged as the state with the highest number of candidates registering for the NCET 2024, with a total of 9,316 candidates. Delhi followed with 3,662 candidates, and Bihar had 3,611 registrations. On the other end of the spectrum, Nagaland and Lakshadweep recorded the lowest participation, with only four candidates each from these regions.

The NTA conducts the National Common Entrance (NCET) exam for admission to the four-year integrated teacher education programme (ITEP) in 42 central and state universities, including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and government Colleges for the academic year 2024-25.
