The SFI has slammed the NTA over the delay in issuing the UGC NET 2026 provisional answer key, saying that the continued delay in releasing the answer keys is an example of the testing agency's administrative incompetence.
Several students have expressed their frustration on social media on the NTA over the delay in issuing the UGC NET 2026 provisional answer key. A user on X wrote: “Dear NTA, at this point, the UGC NET answer key feels like a myth—everyone talks about it, but nobody has actually seen it. Are you evaluating the papers, writing a new constitution, or waiting for the next NET cycle before releasing the answer key?” UGC NET Answer Key LIVE.

Questioning the NTA over the reason for delay, another user said: “Why this unnecessary delay, UGC NET and NTA? For the last three years, the provisional answer key was released within 7–15 days. Students deserve transparency and accountability. Every delay increases anxiety. Please release the answer key as soon as possible.”
The testing agency conducted the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UCG NET) 2026 for the June session from June 22 to 30, 2026. The provisional answer key will include all the correct answers to the questions in the examination.
SFI attacks NTA over UGC NET 2026 answer key delay
Slamming the National Testing Agency (NTA) over the delay in issuing the UGC NET 2026 provisional answer key, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) said that the continued delay in releasing the UGC NET answer keys is an example of NTA’s administrative incompetence and disregard for the concerns of lakhs of students.
The students’ federation said that the UCG NET 2026 was conducted on June 30 and the re-examination for affected centres took place on July 5. However, the NTA has still not issued the provisional answer key, it stated.
Mentioning that the current delay is not the first time, the SFI expressed that there is a continuous crisis around the NTA, which has time and again, failed to conduct exams in a “transparent, accountable, and student-friendly manner.”
'Why this unnecessary delay': Students ask NTA on social media
“Over the past years, repeated controversies, examination irregularities , paper leaks, technical failures, and administrative lapses have severely eroded public confidence in the agency. Students across the country have consistently raised concerns regarding the credibility of examinations conducted by the NTA,” the SFI’s statement read.
The students’ group further said that the government has failed to address these systemic issues despite widespread protests by students , teachers, and democratic organisations.
Furthermore, it has urged the NTA to “immediately” release the UGC NET provisional answer key 2026 without any further delay and issue a fixed date and time for the objection window, the final answer key, and the JRF, PhD admission results.
It has also demanded better transparency in all examination processes and accountability for the repeated administrative failure.
