NEW DELHI: Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued a notification for the postponement of Odisha Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2023-24 scheduled to be conducted on October 27. This decision has been taken in view of the impending severe cyclonic storm Dana. Candidates can check the Odisha Civil services exam postponement notification on the official website, opsc.gov.in.
"In view of the impending cyclonic storm 'Dana', the OCS Preliminary Examination-2023, pursuant to Advt. No. 20 of 2023.24 scheduled to be held on 27.10.2024 is hereby postponed. The next date of the OPSC Preliminary examination 2023 shall be notified after 7 days," the official notification read.
The next date for the exam will be notified after 7 days. Candidates have been advised to keep checking the official website of OPSC for latest updates. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 399 group A and group B vacancies in the department.

Odisha Civil Services Exam 2023-24: Selection process
The Odisha Civil services selection process consists of three key stages: prelims, mains, and an interview. The prelims exam, which is the first stage, includes two papers, each lasting two hours. The total marks for the exam are 499, and there will be negative marking for incorrect answers.
Candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam will be eligible to appear for the OPSC Civil Services main examination. The OPSC Civil Services mains exam date will be announced in due course of time. The mains exam is a descriptive test designed to evaluate their in-depth knowledge of various subjects. Those who succeed in the mains will then proceed to the interview round.
