OPSC recruitment 2023: Applications for mining officer posts open; apply at opsc.gov.in

NEW DELHI: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has started the online application process for the post of mining officer. Candidates can apply for the OPSC mining officers posts by visiting the official website, opsc.gov.in. The last date to submit the OPSC recruitment 2023 application form for mining officers is July 31.

This recruitment drive is getting conducted to fill out a total of 23 vacancies of mining officers in Group A under the steel and mining department. The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts will be made on the basis of written examination and viva voce test.

As per the paper pattern, the written examination will consist of two papers with a total of 500 marks. The questions in both papers will be objective type of multiple-choice questions.

Paper 1 (general studies and awareness test) will consist of 100 questions carrying two marks each and a total of 200 marks with a duration of two hours. Paper 2 (specialization paper - mining engineering) will consist of 150 questions carrying two marks each and a total of 300 marks with a duration of three hours. There will be negative markings for each wrong answer or response with a deduction of 25 percent (one-fourth) of marks allotted to the particular question for both general and technical papers. The maximum mark for the viva voce test is 50 marks.

On the basis of the result of the examination, the commission will prepare the merit list for appointment in order of merit subject to reservation for different categories. In case of the candidate secures the same marks in the aggregate, the candidate older in age will be placed in the selected list.
