ICSSR, CAG to host Telangana Colloquium on state finances, health sector at Osmania university

The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Telangana Chapter, in collaboration with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), will host the Telangana Chapter of the CAG-ICSSR Colloquium Series on February 25, 2026. The event, scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, will take place at the Centenary Seminar Hall, Prof. G. Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Centered on the themes “State of the Finances of Telangana” and “Health Sector of Telangana,” the colloquium seeks to create a dynamic platform for dialogue among academia, audit institutions, and policymakers. The initiative aims to strengthen public financial management systems, enhance fiscal transparency, and address governance challenges, particularly in the health sector.

The event will feature distinguished speakers, including Dr. Bibhu Prasad Nayak, professor at the school of public policy and governance, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad, and VM Sarma Jana, former professor at the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad. They will be joined by T Tirupati Rao, council member, ICSSR, New Delhi, and former Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University; P Madhavi, IA&AS, Principal Accountant General (Audit), Telangana; and Dr. Sanjay Rao Kamineni, IA&AS, Senior Deputy Accountant General (Audit Management Group) AMG II.

Discussions will focus on Telangana’s fiscal health, including revenue and expenditure trends, debt sustainability, and investment priorities. A dedicated session will examine the performance of the state’s health sector and explore how audit findings can inform evidence-based policymaking and mid-course corrections.

Interactive Q&A sessions will encourage participation from students, researchers, and practitioners. The colloquium is expected to foster meaningful research and policy dialogue aligned with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
