NEW DELHI: The Business Blasters Investment Summit and Expo will be held on March 5, at Thyagraj Stadium by the Delhi government, where over 100 selected business ideas by student entrepreneurs will be presented.
The summit and expo will enable investors to invest in the projects of their choice. According to deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, students who qualify the final round will also be offered admission to Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) courses in state universities such as Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT).
Sisodia said that the unemployment situation in the country is so worse that even highly educated individuals are applying for job vacancies with the eligibility of Class 8 pass. He further said that among the present generation, entrepreneurship mindset is not very prominent and hence the Business Blasters programme intends to inculcate this.
Business Blasters program by the Delhi government is a startup programme with participation from over 3 lakh Delhi government school students which received seed money of Rs 60 crore. During the first phase of Business Blasters, about 1,000 business ideas were selected at the school, zonal and district levels. Following this, more than 100 business ideas were shortlisted for the Expo through a competition.
“Qualifiers from the expo and those with the higher investment amounts will be given admission in prominent state universities like DTU, DSEU, IGDTUW, NSUT directly,” said a statement from Delhi government.
