NEW DELHI: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has announced its plans to conduct a three-month training course titled "Integrated Crop Production" from August 1 to October 30, 2024, aimed at enhancing the technical skills of young farmers in agriculture-oriented enterprises and promoting resource conservation. Applications are being accepted from matriculate youngsters aged 20 to 40 years.

Rupinder Kaur, associate director (Skill development), highlighted that the training course will provide comprehensive agricultural knowledge, contributing to livelihood security through agricultural, social, and economic sustainability.

Application process

Interested candidates can obtain application forms from Krishi Vigyan Kendras in their districts, the Skill Development Centre at PAU, or apply online through the university's website www.pau.edu. The deadline for submitting applications is July 25, and interviews will be conducted on July 30 at 10:00 am at the skill development centre.

Applicants are required to bring original and photocopies of matriculation certificates, birth certificates, age proof, and Aadhaar card for the interview.

Course fee

Selected candidates are required to pay a security deposit of Rs 1,000/-, refundable upon successful completion of the course. The course fee is Rs 1,000 and lodging charges are Rs 300 per month. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

PAU organizes 12-day refresher course for agricultural graduate pass-outs

Recently on June 18, the alumni association, college of agriculture, PAU, organized a 12-day refresher course for agricultural graduate pass-outs to update their knowledge on different agricultural aspects. A total of 349 candidates attended the course. A number of teachers from different departments of the college-agronomy, plant breeding and genetics, entomology, plant pathology, soil science, climate change and agrometeorology, extension education, school of organic farming and school of agricultural biotechnology volunteered to deliver approximately 54 lectures on all aspects of agriculture and related fields.
