LPU launches first work integrated BTech programme in AI, data engineering

NEW DELHI: Lovely Professional University (LPU) announced the launch of the first work-integrated Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme in Computer Science and Engineering, with a focus on artificial intelligence and data engineering for the northern region. The programme combines academic learning with paid internships, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The curriculum equips students with skills in data analysis, statistical modelling, database management, big data, and cloud computing. The vice-president of LPU, Aman Mittal, emphasises the programme’s focus on future-readiness and strategic thinking. "Students will master programming languages like Python and gain insights into data visualization, machine learning, and deep learning,” he said.

The institute said that collaboration with companies brings industry expertise directly into the classroom. Students engage with real-world case studies, hands-on projects, and master classes led by industry professionals. The internships across India offer practical, hands-on experience in AI and Data Engineering.

Graduates can pursue careers as AI engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, big data analysts, and software developers. The programme is designed to build skills in industry 4.0 emerging technologies, enabling students to excel in the fast-paced technological landscape of the 21st century, the institute said.
