PCI puts 71 DPharm, 18 BPharm institutes in “not to make admission” category after Maharashtra government cancels approval over irregularities.
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has barred first-year admissions in 71 Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharm) institutions and 18 Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) institutions in Maharashtra following cancellation of approval to offer courses over alleged irregularities. PCI has placed the institutions in the “Not to Make Admission” category.
The decision has been taken following the Maharashtra government’s letter cancelling the permissions granted to pharmacy courses offered by the institutes in the state. In August, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra issued show cause notices to pharmacy colleges over several irregularities.
The matter was discussed in the 431st Executive Committee meeting of the PCI , held on September 18, wherein the council resolved to enforce the state government’s directive.

Considering the DTE letter about show-cause notices, Maharashtra government letter about cancellation of grant, and the latest information, the Pharmacy council decided to ban admissions, inform the institutes, and place the list of institutions on its website.
"In the light of the Government of Maharashtra letter dated September 15, 2025, it was decided to not to make admission in 2025-2026 in 1st year,” said PCI while listing the pharmacy colleges.
