Students are demanding the postponement of the NEET 2021. Several students fearing the third wave of COVID-19 requested for the postponement using #postponeneetUG2021tilloctober.
NEW DELHI: After the revision of JEE Main phase 4 exam dates, several medical aspirants have been demanding postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) till October. Some aspirants fear the possible Covid-19 third wave. Whereas, some NEET 2021 aspirants have requested more time to prepare for the NEET 2021 according to the new NEET exam pattern 2021.

Students have taken to Twitter to demand the postponement of the NEET-UG 2021 exam to October using the hashtags #postponeneetUG2021tilloctober.
The NEET exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 12, 2021. On July 12, the education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, revised the JEE Main 2021 exam dates for phase 4, to August 26, 27, 31, September 1, and 2.
Prashant Kumar, a medical aspirant, tagging the education minister said, “We are not demanding cancellations, we are demanding just for postponement of about 3-4 weeks.”

Another medical aspirant tweeted that the NTA has introduced several changes in NEET 2021 exam pattern and therefore, the authorities should allot more time to prepare properly.

A NEET aspirant, Sneha, tweeted, “If JEE can be rescheduled then why not NEET 2021 exam.”
“Yes we do agree that there are precautions taken during the exam, but what about outside the campus when many students and parents wait,” another student tweeted.

Requesting the education minister to reschedule the NEET 2021 exam dates, Sheikh Alexander, a NEET aspirant, tweeted, “We are going through a lot of anxiety due to the fear of a third wave which may likely hit by the end of August and have its peak in mid-Sept.”

Meanwhile, the NEET 2021 registration process has commenced at neet.nta.nic.in with some new changes. Aspirants fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NEET 2021 for admission can fill and submit the form till NEET application form 2021 last date, August 6.
