QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022: IITs, IISc, DU, JNU rank in major subjects

NEW DELHI: QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 were released today, April 6 for five categories - arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences and medicine, natural sciences, and social sciences and management. Each category includes different subjects for which universities have ranked.
Under the Arts and Humanities domain, two universities including Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and University of Delhi (DU) have secured 101-150 and 151-200 slabs in the history subject, respectively.

Under the Engineering and Technology domain, two Indian Institutes of Technology - IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay have managed to secure positions in top 100 in computer science subject by ranking 65 and 67 respectively. Besides, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore have got 109, 109, 114, and 144 ranks respectively. IIT Roorkee is in top 251-300, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in 301-350, IIT Guwahati as well as DU in 351-400.
Under the Life Sciences category, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has secured a position in 151-200 ranking slab for medicine subject. Whereas, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences which is a private (deemed) university has got 18th rank for dentistry.

Under the Natural Sciences category, IISc Bangalore is in top 100 bagging 81st rank for chemistry followed by IIT Bombay at 112 and IIT Delhi in 151-200 slab.
On the other hand, IIT Bombay is in top 200 for mathematics subject with a rank of 117 followed by IIT Delhi (128), IIT Kanpur (132), IISc Bangalore (142) and IIT Madras (148). For physics, IISc is at 91, IIT Bombay at 115, IIT Madras at 130, and IIT Delhi has ranked 151-200 slab.
Moreover, under the social sciences and management category, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of O P Jindal Global University (JGU) has ranked 70th globally and secured top position in India. There is no other Indian law school including none of the National Law Schools that have been able to find any place in the top 75 law schools in these global rankings.

- Employer reputation
- Research citations per paper
- H-index
- International Research Network (by broad-faculty area)
