NEW DELHI: For taking admission to BA Economics (Hons) programme in Delhi University (DU), candidates will have to appear for a Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022. The registration for CUET 2022 will begin from today on the official website – cuet.samarth.ac.in.

DU vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh announced the policy on DU admission 2022 on April 5. According to the policy, in order to get admission to BA (Hons) Economics, it is mandatory for the candidates to take the test in Mathematics for CUET. Merit for this will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the chosen language, Mathematics and any two subjects.

Candidates will have to appear in the CUET 2022 exam only in those subjects which they have studied in class 12. The merit will also be calculated on the basis of the combination of only those subjects in which the candidate has appeared in the CUET. There will be no disadvantage to any student on changing the stream, said the vice chancellor.

A student who has studied science subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM), only needs to give tests for these subjects and the mandatory language section in the CUET exam even if they wish to get admission to another stream such as humanities or social science. Their merit for admission into that subject will only be based on their performance in the PCM subjects and the mandatory language section in the CUET exam.

CUET 2022 contains three sections under which, the first section is divided into two parts with 13 languages in the first part and 20 languages in the second part. Candidates are required to appear in at least one language for admission to Delhi University. The second section includes 27 domain-specific topics. The third section is general knowledge, which is mandatory only for admissions to BA programmes.
